Meet Darren:
Your guide to Mindfulness, Meditation, Qigong and Holistic Well-Being
Darren had dabbled in mindfulness, but his real journey began after a powerful energy healing from his daughter—as part of her Equine Healing course she had to perform healings on people (got a horse in need? Reach out!). The experience was profound, sparking his search for deeper healing and mindfulness retreats. That search led him to Qigong, and the rest is history.
Darren is a certified Shibashi Tai Chi Qigong and is a member of The Tai Chi Union for Great Britain. He is currently advancing his expertise to become an advanced session leader. His trains with The Holistic Qigong Academy—a respected member of the UK Union of All Tai Chi Internal Arts and an academy accredited by the International Guild of Complementary Therapists, also registered with the Complimentary Medical association.
Darren leads Qigong sessions at Angmering Community Centre, in homes, and corporate spaces—most recently for staff at Brighton and Sussex Medical School. When the sun’s shining and the tide’s low, you’ll find him on East Preston beach, between Salt Café and the red boat.
Darren is expanding his skills to become a Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) teacher. Soon, he will offer an eight-week MBSR course, a globally researched and evidence-based program dating back to the 1970s. Designed to introduce participants to mindfulness practice and self-compassion, this course—available both in person and online—will guide individuals through meditation techniques, helping them explore emotions with gentle inquiry. Through consistent mindfulness meditation, participants will build a toolkit to manage stress, anxiety, and mental and physical discomfort.
Darren is also training as a Practitioner of Meditation Therapies, specialising in meditation techniques that support individuals in overcoming stress, anxiety, and depression. His holistic approach will combine meditation with counselling, empowering participants to find happiness and emotional balance. Whether working with individuals or groups, Darren provides tailored sessions in-person, online, and in community or corporate settings, ensuring accessible and transformative support for all.
With a passion for guiding others towards inner peace and well-being, Darren’s mission is to help people reconnect with themselves and cultivate resilience through mindfulness, movement, and meditation.
